August Wrenth, 2010

Today it is official, August 10 is her adoption day and it will be shared with my birthday. Xia Run Le is now a Tarver!!!! (name changes to Wren Adeline when we get back stateside)

We were up around 4:30 am and had our appointment at 8:30 back at the Barton Fink hotel. I had previously hoped to never have to return there, but alas it was not to be. We ended up back at the room where we first met her and she took to the rocking horse again. This time Trinity joined her. The wait was short and we were unceremoniously ushered into another room and took the oath, stamped fingers and her foot and that was that.

Things are tough. She misses her family and her life. There are flashes of happiness, but she thinks she is going home to what was and cries. Tomorrow we will go tour the orphanage and meet her foster family, so she and they can say good bye to each other.

I apologize for the brevity of this post, but I wanted to get an update out as soon as possible. I'll fill in the details later.

Coming up next time: one of the saddest days of my life and a sprinkler leaks in the room too! Plus plenty more pics.

One more thing...
I forgot to mention a detail from the time that we got her...as we were leaving and she walked out with she held her up hand up to grab Shana's as we went to the elevator. Very sweet moment.

  2. Joel and Shana....Miss Wren Adeline is so stunningly beautiful. The face on an angel...and those eyes! I am so happy she is finally in your arms. I am sorry to hear she is grieving. It will better each day. Please keep the photos coming. It is just too sweet to witness Runle coming home to her forever family...finally!! And especially funny with Joel narrating. ;)
Congratulations on your beautiful girl. Wren was definitely worth the wait (your awful, awful wait!)
